Morning departure by bus from Poprad to the centre of Slovak mining Banska Stiavnica, which was granted its first town privileges in 1244 under the Hungarian King Belo IV. We will visit the Mining Museum, the Bartolomej shaft, the Old and New Castle, the Piargska Gate and the beautiful natural taichs or the mining knocker from 1681. In Banská Štiavnica we will have lunch and then a short break. In the afternoon, we will move to Spania Valley - a mining settlement known for copper ore mining since the Eneolithic period. We will see a mining knocker, miners' houses, miners' clock and the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In the afternoon return to Poprad.
